WPCSOCC CE01052101 Surface irrigation treats, disposes, and reuses wastewater in a way that does not discharge to surface water or use a subsurface drainfield. These systems need routine maintenance to function well and properly treat wastewater. This webinar is a refresher on the operation and maintenance of surface irrigation systems to include permit requirements, pumps and controls, calibration, troubleshooting, and waste analysis. WPCSOCC CE01052104 Surface Irrigation systems create two waste streams – one liquid and one solid. Solids management is a key to the health and longevity of the system. This webinar addresses vegetation control, wetted area determination, lagoon management, record keeping, ground and surface water monitoring, and managing difficult sites. |
Operation and Maintenance of Land Application of Biosolids Systems Land application is a method to treat and dispose of biosolids in a way that does not discharge to surface water or use a subsurface drainfield. These systems need routine maintenance to function well and remove pathogens from the waste stream. This webinar is a refresher on the operation and maintenance of land application systems to include permit requirements, calibration, troubleshooting, vegetation control, waste/soil sampling, and P&VAR. Waste Management Planning for Land Application of Biosolids Systems Biosolids should be land applied in such a manner as to efficiently use the nutrient constituents and adequately supply soils and plants, while minimizing the transport of nutrients to ground and surface water. This webinar reviews the basics of nutrient management planning and reporting, and addresses common problems such as excess phosphorus, nuisance issues, and difficult sites. |
