Level I and II Erosion and Sediment Control for NCDOT Projects – Traditional Classroom Option
Introduction
In 2007, Erosion and Sediment Control Certification became a requirement for all workers involved in erosion and sediment control on NCDOT projects, and certificate holders must be recertified every three years.
Level I: Crew supervisors who manage the installation of erosion and sediment control on NCDOT project construction sites.
Level II: Supervisors who manage grading work, culvert replacement work, and bridge construction over rivers and streams.
Both courses cover Best Management Practices (BMPs) in erosion and sediment control along with permit requirements.
These classes are also excellent for general erosion and sediment control staff working on non-DOT projects. The exam is not required for those who do not need certification.
