Level I and II Erosion and Sediment Control for NCDOT Projects – Online Certification

Introduction

In 2007, Erosion and Sediment Control Certification became a requirement for all workers involved in erosion and sediment control on NCDOT projects, and certificate holders must be recertified every three years. Level I and II Initial and Recertification training and exams may be completed entirely online, 24/7.  Student materials, training videos, and exams are available on a web-based, educational portal called Moodle.  Online exams are downloaded and posted monthly.

Instructions

  1. Each exam taker must have a unique email address at time of registration.  If you are trying to register individuals who do not have email addresses, create free Gmail accounts for them before proceeding to step 2.
  2. Select the correct certification option below, and click the “Register Now” link.
  3. Follow the screen instructions to register. Payment may be made by credit card online or by mailing a check.  The registration fee must be paid before individuals can proceed to the certification materials, videos, and exam.
  4. Accessing the Exam:  The registration automatically creates a Reporter Brickyard User Account for the examinee, and the examinee will receive an email message from Reporter with instructions to set a password.  That message and link expires in 24 hours.  After 24 hours, if a password was not set, the examinee can set a password by going directly to the Reporter home page <reporter.ncsu.edu> and clicking “Forgot password?  Click here.”  Once logged in, the examinee will see the title of the course on the home page.  If the course has been paid, there will be a blue button to the right of the course title that reads “Access Online Content.”
